How AIWR began
Jelani Aswad has traveled the country as an itinerant worship leader and pastor in various leadership roles, in a large church ministry capacity, for the past decade. After years of prayer and continued service to the church ministry, Jelani felt God place a new assignment before him. He observed the unique challenges leaders faced as they balance ministry responsibilities, personal growth, and a desire to stay fervently passionate about Jesus. He believes ministry leaders are shepherds who need times of spiritual refreshing combined with hands on training. This would be a safe space to recharge and rethink in a community that is experience and pastoral. This realization birthed the idea of the Asaph Institute of Worship & Renewal (AIWR). AIWR is designed to serve ministries and organizations of all sizes.
We are worth more than what our gifts produce. At Asaph Institute of Worship & Renewal, we believe our past, our abilities, and our hurts are interconnected. By combining inner healing practices and practical teaching, we will engage in extended times of prayer and worship. These times of refreshing are followed by practical workshops and consulting sessions for effective ministry change. The goal of our times together are always restoration and transformation allowing for sustainable, long term service in the Kingdom of God.

Having such a diverse background of ministry experience, we know not all ministry leaders, including pastors, worship pastors/directors, and volunteers have the same needs. All of our financial recommendations for the retreats and experiences we lead are needs-based and require a discovery phone call to determine what would work best for your teams.
