How AIWR began
Jelani Aswad has traveled the country as an itinerant worship leader and pastor in various leadership roles, in a large church ministry capacity, for the past decade. After years of prayer and continued service to the church ministry, Jelani felt God place a new assignment before him. He observed the unique challenges ministry leaders faced as they balanced responsibilities and desired to maintain fervent passion for Jesus. He believes ministry leaders are shepherds who need times of refreshing and intense shepherding. This would be a safe space to rest, recharge, and reconnect with Jesus in a community that is accepting and caring. This realization birthed the idea of the Asaph Institute of Worship & Renewal (AIWR). AIWR is designed to serve ministries and organizations of all sizes.
A modern approach
We are worth more than what our gifts produce. At Asaph Institute of Worship & Renewal, we believe our past, our abilities, and our hurts are interconnected. By combining inner healing practices and teaching, we will engage in extended times of prayer and worship. We create supportive environments for ministry leaders to encounter Jesus in a restorative way. Our deepest desire is to steward spaces where the unity of the Holy Spirit can dwell and bring leaders back to wholeness and health.

We provide a 30 min consultation that allows you to process and explore your ministry needs. Typically, meetings are scheduled between 9a-2:30p M-TH.

Having such a diverse background of ministry experience, we know not all ministry leaders, including pastors, worship pastors/directors, and volunteers have the same needs. All of our financial recommendations for the retreats and experiences we lead are needs-based and require a discovery phone call to determine what would work best for your teams.
